MUSEOLOGY GRADUATE CERTIFICATE
General Information

We appreciate your interest in the program and look forward
to receiving your application. We believe that you will find the following
information valuable and urge you to read it before applying.
The Museology Certificate Option is open to students
formally matriculated into a graduate program at the University of Washington.
This program is associated with the Interdisciplinary Museology Graduate Program
and is intended to serve students from a wide variety of disciplines. The
certificate program proposes to add an interdisciplinary aspect to the graduate
degree. It is administered by an advisory committee headed by the Director of
the Museology Graduate Program. A minimum GPA of 3.0 in ones graduate
discipline is required for consideration.
To apply for the Museology Certificate Option, the

Your application materials will be forwarded to the
Director for approval. An interview may be required prior to acceptance. The
Museology Certificate Option Checklist and other registration related
information will be forwarded upon admittance to the Program. You will be
required to fill out the Checklist and return it to UW Educational Outreach
after completion of all certificate requirements and before you
graduate from the UW.
Graduate School Requirements: A graduate
certificate program requires a minimum of fifteen student credit hours, nine of
which must be earned in courses numbered 500 and above. In addition, nine
student credit hours must be earned in graded courses. Courses taken for the
certificate may count as electives to fulfill degree requirements in the home
department. The Museology Certificate will be conferred at graduation, after the
student fulfills the Graduate School requirements
Certificate Program Requirements:
To receive a Museology Certificate, students must complete
a minimum of 21 credits in Museology, ten of which must be at the 500 level or
above.
