GO-MAP
Graduate Diversity Recruiter Program
The Graduate Diversity Recruiter (GDR) program is designed to support departmental efforts to recruit minority and underrepresented students, as well as students whose scholarship addresses diversity. The goals of the Graduate Diversity Recruiter program are to introduce prospective graduate students to the rich diversity that nourishes community at UW and in the Seattle area; and in doing so to increase diversity and foster community in the graduate experience at UW. To meet these goals, GO-MAP has a trained corps of current graduate students to assist visiting prospective students and aid academic departments in their diversity recruitment efforts by providing targeted services for campus visits by prospective students considering graduate study at UW. When scheduling a campus visit, departments may submit a request for any of the following services to:
- meet for coffee or meals to share insights and answer questions
- make contact via phone or email before and/or after the visit
- be available as an additional contact throughout the visit
GDR Volunteer Application
Students interested in becoming a GDR may apply here. Information and resources for GDRs is available in the GDR Training Handbook.
Request a GDR
We are happy to send GDRs to your department functions, or have them visit one-on-one with prospective students or groups. We do ask, however, that your request be submitted one week in advance. To request that a GDR meet with or contact your prospective student, please click here.
