Prospective Student Days
2008
April 3-4, 2008
Admitted prospective graduate students of color (starting their graduate
work at the UW in Autumn 2008) are invited to participate in Prospective
Student Days 2008. Prospective students will participate in departmental
events while also enjoying GO-MAP sponsored activities including a
reception, campus tour, and information lunch. Students have several
opportunities to network with students and faculty from various
departments and to learn about funding, housing, campus climate, and
living in Seattle.

Thursday, April 3
8:30-10:00 a.m. Welcome Continental Breakfast
Communications Bldg, Room 206 [Simpson Center Conference Room]
Informal breakfast for students to meet; students will receive
information about planned activities for the weekend. Financial aid,
housing, and fellowships & assistantships office representatives will be
available to answer questions.
10:00-11:00 a.m. Campus Walk
UW Main Campus [Meet by Flag Pole in front of Parrington Hall]
Prospective students will have the opportunity to speak with current
graduate students from similar areas of study and to view different
areas of campus.
11:00- 3:00 p.m. Campus Graduate Housing Tours
Come tour four great places to live! All specifically
designed for UW students. If interested, please contact Housing & Food
Services at hfsinfo@u.washington.edu or 206-543-4059.
4:00-6:00 p.m. GO-MAP Spring Reception
UW Club
This is an opportunity for prospective students to meet and mingle with
faculty and current students. Light dinner will be provided.
Friday, April 4
11:30-1:30 p.m. Information Luncheon
Ethnic Cultural Center [ECC] Black Room
Prospective students will have the opportunity to ask questions about
financial aid, fellowships & assistantships, student opportunities and
diversity at UW, campus resources, and living options in Seattle.
2:30-3:30 p.m. Survival Tips for Students of Color:
Hearing it from Faculty of Color
Gerberding Hall, Room 142
All prospective students, and particularly students
of color, are invited to attend a special seminar session.

are subject to change.
**Please note: GO-MAP's activities
and resources target ethnic minority and underrepresented graduate
students in particular, though they are open to all graduate students,
especially those committed to building a more diverse UW graduate
community.**
