Aging Research Fellowships for 2007-2008
The Graduate School is pleased to announce a competition
for fellowship awards for the 2007-08 academic year made possible through
the generosity of the University of Washington Retirement Association
(UWRA). The UWRA Fellowship in Aging will provide a $5,000 award to support
graduate students of outstanding academic merit who have a demonstrated
interest in working with older people or the study of aging or gerontology.
Three fellowships are available in this competition.
Nominations should be submitted by department
chairpersons. Each department may nominate two highly qualified master's or
doctoral students for the award. Please direct your nominees to access the
nomination cover sheet at
https://catalysttools.washington.edu/survey/mhanks/31860
and submit the completed cover sheet by
February 12, 2007. Recipients of the UWRA award will be notified by March
16, 2007. The award is renewable in subsequent years for recipients who
demonstrate satisfactory progress toward their degree.
To be eligible, a student must be in the
mid-years of his or her graduate education; that is at least in the second
year and not in the final year of the program. The award will be paid in
three equal sums at the beginning of each academic quarter.
