Title

Senior Lecturers

Description

A number of institutions are responding creatively to cuts in funding for tenured positions, including the University of Washington. Senior Lectureships provide renewable long-term contracts for full-time non-tenured faculty. These positions provide benefits and a significant level of job security, unlike part-time temporary lectureships and graduate teaching assistantships. Teaching is a strong focus for senior lectureships, and evaluation and assessment of lecturers differs somewhat from the review of tenured faculty.
