Collaborative Programs

Description

The University of Toronto offers collaborative programs that are intended to provide a multidisciplinary experience for students who are enrolled and completing the requirements in one of a number of participating graduate programs. Collaborative programs allow students to access “niche” or specialty training while achieving full discipline training. Administratively, these programs are relatively easy to set up, require very little overhead, and need only exist for as long as the special interdisciplinary education is required. There are 29 collaborative programs in operation at the University of Toronto, with approximately 10 in development.

At the University of Toronto 68 of our 80 graduate departments are participants in one or more collaborative programs. Each Collaborative Program has a Director and an administrative assistant. Interested students must apply for admission to both the department and to the collaborative program. Collaborative Programs are broadly administered through the School of Graduate Studies.

Anyone interested in the list of collaborative program offerings or in knowing more about individual collaborative programs should visit the web site listed below. Enquiries about specific collaborative programs must be made to the collaborative program Director or to the department through which the program is offered. If there are more general questions on the practice, interested persons may contact the Policy & Program Coordinator.
