2002 Career Day for Postdoctoral Scholars and Graduate Students

Description

A yearly symposium aimed at postdocs and graduate students and their career development. Included this year are alternative career options provided by prominent speakers from industry, government, and academia. Smaller, breakout sessions in the afternoon cover job search and interview strategies, opportunities for international scholars, funding opportunities for postdocs, and women and minorities in science. 

A Friday night keynote address is open to all interested faculty, staff, students, and community. This year's speaker will be Dr. Walter Schaffer, Deputy Director and Research Training Officer, NIH Office of Extramural Programs. This event is free and will be March 8th at 4:00 pm in the Margaret Cameron Spain Auditorium.

University of Alabama at Birmingham, sponsored by UAB Graduate School, Graduate Student Association, UAB Industry Roundtable, and the Office of Postdoctoral Education.
