Career Development Organization (CDO) for Physicists and Astronomers

Description
The Career Development Organization (CDO) for Physicists and Astronomers is a student organization initiated and run by graduate students at the University of Washington Physics Department. CDO is dedicated to informing students of the broad array of career options available to them, and to helping them prepare for the career of their choice. The group holds seminars featuring guest speakers who have a physics or scientific background and have made a successful transition into industry. CDO also hosts workshops aimed at assisting students in preparing for the job search. A major goal for CDO is to organize an annual "Networking Day" where representatives and hiring managers of industrial research companies, national laboratories, and other potential employers are invited to the UW Physics Department to interact with students, view their work, and make contacts.
