Faculty Partners Program

Description

The Faculty Partners Program at CUA brings together faculty and students in an effort to familiarize faculty with the uses of basic applications and educational technologies, as well as provide an opportunity for graduate students and advanced undergraduates to develop that same proficiency and the experience teaching others. The program operates as a part of the Academic Services division of the Center for Planning and Information Technology. Students from theology, law, the humanities, and other non-technical fields are hired into the program, and expected to bring with them the concerns and needs of their particular discipline. In turn, they work with and are trained by IT professionals. The students then apply their knowledge of available technologies and the needs of their discipline to train and support faculty in their department as well as develop, evaluate, and suggest applications and tools that could be integrated into the pedagogy of university faculty. Emphasis is placed on integrating technology into teaching and learning situations, though any application that can enhance the daily activity of faculty is included.
