Description

Required for all doctoral students in the English Department at the University of New Hampshire, English 924 covers a variety of professional issues, including the culture of academia and current controversies in the profession, preparation for the academic and nonacademic job search, expectations and conditions of academic employment (teaching, research, service, tenure, etc.). It features roundtable discussions with current Ph.D. students in the department who have secured academic and nonacademic jobs for next year. Students receive practice in constructing c.v.'s and application letters.
