The Career Planning Center

Description

The Career Planning Center (CPC) for Beginning Scientists and Engineers is the "one-stop shopping" location for job openings and the guidance and information needed to make decisions about education and career choices. Registrants come from the disciplines of: Engineering; Interdisciplinary ; Life Sciences; Medical Sciences; Physical Sciences and Mathematics; Professional; Social Sciences; and Other disciplines. Registrants come to the site: Out of general interest; Seeking Employees; Seeking Employment, Postdoctorals, and Internships; or Seeking Guidance.

The Center is useful if you are a science or engineering student looking for a job, research funding, internship or postdoc, an employer looking for someone with a science and engineering background, looking for advice as to whether or not to go to graduate school, have advice to offer to science and engineering students, if you would like to know more about different occupations from those who are actually in them, or if you want to know what the trends and changes are in the science and engineering job market. Ask a question; Provide what advice you'd give to science and engineering students; Post a job; Request an on-line mentor; or Review information on the latest employment trends. Take a look at our student guide: Careers in Science and Engineering: A Student Planning Guide to Grad School and Beyond or at our newly released mentoring guide: Adviser, Teacher, Role Model, Friend: On Being a Mentor to Students in Science and Engineering (can also be found in the Resource Center).
