The Consortium holds that
"the decision to accept a student into a graduate degree
program (masters- or doctoral-level) should establish an
implicit contract to provide not only the scholarly
knowledge of the discipline, but also professional
development skills and tools necessary to assume a variety
of career paths." The state-wide consortium includes a dozen
public and private universities in efforts to create an open
database of shared education resources; allow graduate
students reciprocal access to member university's
development programs funded by shared sponsorship where
possible; share in the planning of career development
workshops; and create state-wide standards for professional
development activities.
