Graduate Select Admission Program

Description

The goal of the Select Admission Program is to keep UT's best and brightest undergraduates on campus for graduate study by: (1) extending an "early" (i.e., preemptive) offer of admission and financial aid, (2) removing financial and other costs associated with regular application; and (3) potentially reducing the total combined number of semesters (and therefore total number of dollars expended) needed to obtain an undergraduate and graduate degree (without reducing the hourage requirements for either). In making an early commitment, it may be possible to keep some of Texas' most capable undergraduate students from entering the competitive graduate school application market. This program also may assist efforts to promote diversity by inducing UT's best minority students to remain on campus for graduate study.
