Job Market Workshop

Description

This event begins with a series of lectures and presentations by faculty and administrators on such topics as: searching for an academic position, preparing a curriculum vitae, tailoring cover letters to particular institutions, assembling a credential file, and tips on job interviewing. Faculty members from partner institutions will conduct a "fish bowl" mock interview of a University of Texas doctoral student followed by a debriefing session in which students, faculty and administrators have the opportunity to offer comments and critique what they observe. Students will then break into smaller, discipline-specific groups for mock interviews conducted by a UT and partner school representative.

This workshop is most beneficial to students nearing completion of their degree programs who plan to seek teaching positions in other higher education institutions.
