Graduate Colloquia

Description

The Department of English at the University of Delaware offers a set of four graduate colloquia. Current groups, which meet every two weeks, are Medieval-Renaissance, 18th-19th Century Group, Minority Discourse, and 20th Century Group. Though practices differ from one group to the next, graduate students are regular presenters of their papers (often in preparation for a paper to be delivered at a conference) and take responsibility for schedules, announcements, Web sites, and invitations to outside speakers. The department has found it to be a great way for faculty and graduate students to get to know one another through their work.
