Alternative Careers in Biosciences Seminar Series

Description

The Alternative Careers in Biosciences Seminar Series (ACB) provides the opportunity for scientists working in non-academic careers to share their experiences with graduate students and post-docs. The goal of the seminars is to provide information and resources about careers outside of academia to graduate students and post-docs. The format is a 30-45 minute presentation, during which speakers discuss the nature of their careers and individual jobs, as well as how they chose their careers. The presentation is followed by informal time for discussion and dinner with students. Former speakers have continued to act as contacts for students interested in related non-academic careers. The speakers' contact information is posted to the ACB Web page, along with presentation summaries and links to other career resource sites on the Internet.
