Center for Process Analytical Chemistry

Description

The Center for Process Analytical Chemistry (CPAC) is affiliated with various University of Washington science departments and coordinates a multi-disciplinary team of faculty, researchers, post docs and graduate students from a selection of universities and national centers to assess and perform industrially relevant research projects selected by its sponsors. Sponsorship is broad and includes industrial firms and government agencies and labs. CPAC's objectives include "bridging the gap between basic research and full-scale process/product development." An Interactive Program begun in 1996 seeks to engage national academic talent in a multi-disciplinary manner as part of a forum concerned with the transfer of technology related to process analytical issues. Participating graduate students and post docs are provided an opportunity to inform decisions about career interest and improve understanding of the value of their research.
