Software Entrepreneurship Course

Description

UW's course in Software Entrepreneurship combines software engineering with business. It allows students to understand how software start-up companies work, and teaches them the skills needed to create them. The course also orients graduate students to the marketplace, helps them develop business models, and teaches them how to present those models to "money people." The course gives students the opportunity to work in teams with MBA, Computer Science Masters and doctoral students who collaborate to develop complete business plans for start-up companies. The course emphasizes skills useful for careers outside of the academy.
