Title

Dissertation / Thesis on the Web

Description

West Virginia University, along with Virginia Tech, is presently making all master's theses and doctoral dissertations awarded by our institution available worldwide on the Web (with some restrictions for specific patent or publication reasons). This procedure for disseminating the results of research and scholarly activity of graduates marks a major step in providing academic, research, government, and industrial arenas with the newest information coming from academia. WVU has now solved numerous computer-based problems and established a large array of policies that protect students' work, while still allowing extensive access. Electronic submission has proven particularly interesting to people in the creative arts who can now submit their material in the form of videos and virtual reality formats as part of their dissertation.
