Contributions to Society or Community
Non-Profit Organizations

Fourteen respondents indicated that they contribute to society or the community by using their scholarly expertise working with non-profit organizations.   The following are samples of the data that were included in this category:

  • Providing pro bono expertise to social service and non-profit organizations
  • Technical review panel member for the Salmon Recovery Funding Board
  • Advance research knowledge in partnering with non-profit community programs
  • Managing the financial affairs of several non-profits
  • Using writing skills to write grants for non-profit work and to publicly participate in community work
  • Consultation with non-profit agencies in King County on how to effectively interact with their difficult consumers
