Contributions to Society or Community
Environmental Issues

Five respondents indicated that they contribute to society or the community by using their scholarly expertise working on environmental issues.  The following are the data that were included in this category:

  • Technical advice for habitat restoration in the Skagit River delta to governmental agencies and the Skagit Watershed Council
  • Participation in environmental interests, such as organic gardening programs
  • Inventory of lichens on Mount Rainier, in Washington state, and in British Columbia
  • Advocacy on behalf of the environment
  • Education of the public about global climate change
