Contributions to Society or Community

From Question 6: Beyond your professional career, in what ways are you able to use your scholarly expertise to contribute to society or to your community?

A total of 174 responses were given to this question, some respondents reported contributions in multiple areas. The responses contain elements that can be grouped into several broad categories.  The categories in order of decreasing frequency are: K-12 Education, Community Service, Cross-Cultural and International Activities, Mentoring, Non-Profit OrganizationsOther Activities, Board Membership, Writing, Health Issues, Public Speaking, Religious Organizations, Environmental Issues, Government Work, Media Relations, and  Music and Art Performances.
