Re-envisioning eNews
Date: December 6, 2001
Subject: Re-envisioning the Ph.D.
NEW Website Design!
This is an exciting time in doctoral education.
Events in and across many sectors are taking place and building momentum
in doctoral transformation, including newly released studies, new doctoral
initiatives, and new available resources. The
Re-envisioning website is now receiving in excess of 30,000 hits a month, and
steadily increasing. To more
effectively spread the word on the many efforts underway, we have redesigned the
Re-envisioning the Ph.D. website at: www.grad.washington.edu/envision
to include the latest available information in doctoral education related to:
--News and Updates (recent publications, media coverage,
and events)
--Re-envisioning Project Resources (publications from Re-envisioning research,
our 2000 Conference, Ph.D.
career resources, and stakeholder requests)
--National/International Resources (national/international research, projects,
and
initiatives addressing
doctoral education)
--Promising Practices (hundreds of innovative practices and resources in
doctoral
education) from around the
country and abroad.
We’ve also added a GOOGLE search capacity for the entire
website at: http://www.grad.washington.edu/envision/about/search.html.
We’d like to invite you to take a moment and peruse our
website and give us some feedback/comments/concerns at: envision@u.washington.edu.
If you wish to be removed from our email list you may also contact us at
this address. You can submit your
organization’s innovative doctoral Promising Practice at: http://www.grad.washington.edu/envision/practices/promprac_submit.html
or forward this email to any interested colleagues, who may enroll on our email
list at: http://www.grad.washington.edu/envision/about/mailinglist.html.
Thank you for your valuable contributions and participation as we come
together to re-envision the Ph.D. to meet the societal needs of the 21st
Century.
I wish for all of you who produce, fund, and hire Ph.D.s,
as well as doctoral students themselves, a wonderful holiday season.
Do let us know how we can serve you and others involved in transforming
the doctoral experience.
