Subject: Re-envisioning the Ph.D. Updates

New developments are underway as doctoral stakeholders seek to re-envision the Ph.D.  We would like to bring your attention to several new articles, presentations and resources available on our web page: http://depts.washington.edu/envision.  This month we feature an article   in the Scientist by Kate Devine, a presentation by Motorola University's Bill Wiggenhorn, and The Responsive Ph.D. initiative by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.  We have included a section on our front page that features the latest "Promising Practices" posted by various stakeholders in doctoral education.  Also, new to our site is a listing of the Project's Media Coverage and under the heading "Foundations for Change" the National Surveys and Studies Panel from our Re-envisioning Conference.

We appreciate your participation and continued interest.  We invite you to view and submit any new Promising Practices at: http://depts.washington.edu/envision/submissions.htm.  We have recently updated many Promising Practice contacts and URLs to assure the most current information available.  Please send us any changes, comments, suggestions to envision@u.washington.edu or me personally at nyquist@u.washington.edu.

Sincerely,
