Frequently Asked Questions:

 1.   Are all doctoral degree students eligible for this award? 

No.  Only doctoral candidates whose programs fall under the jurisdiction of The Graduate School are eligible for this award, namely PhD, DMA, AudD, DNP, DPT, and EdD.   JD, MD, PharmD, and DDS candidates are not eligible.

 2.   Can a nomination be made after a degree has been received?

 No.   This award is available only to PhD candidates.  Nominees are not eligible if they have already received the degree.

 3.  A student of mine hasn't taken exams yet, but will have done so by the time the Medal is awarded.  Is this student eligible for nomination?

No.  Nominees must have reached candidacy status at the time the nomination is made.
