When do I apply to the Graduate School?
Each degree program determines their graduate application deadline. Consult your program's application requirements page
to get your program's application deadline and contact information. If you
are an applicant living outside the U.S., you should complete application
requirements at least thirty days before the deadline specified
by the
graduate program to ensure sufficient time for graduate admission
review.
What computer requirements are needed to apply online?
The Computer requirements for on-line applications are as follows:
- Computer connected to the World-Wide-Web.
- One of the following Web browser programs (final releases only, not beta
versions) : Netscape version 4 or greater, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or
greater, Mozilla 1.0 or greater, or Opera 6.0 or greater. Internet Explorer on
the Macintosh is currently not supported.
- Ability to print from your Web browser program.
Can I submit a paper application?
We realize that in some instances it may not be possible for an applicant to
use the online process. The paper application takes four to six weeks
longer to process than the online application but, if you *must* have access to a
downloadable/printable version, you should contact the program to which you
are applying. Some programs are still able to accept paper applications but most do not.
To facilitate your application you should make every effort to submit it online at
https://www.grad.washington.edu/applForAdmiss/.
Where do I send letters of recommendation?
Many programs only accept letters of recommendation electronically after you
designate the recommender in the online application. Check your program's
recommendation requirements before applying. Go to
http://www.grad.washington.edu/Programs/gradprogs.aspx and select your
program to view the requirements.
How do I know my recommenders have submitted their letters of recommendation?
Once you have submitted your application, you can check the status of your
recommendation letters by logging in to your application status page at
https://www.grad.washington.edu/applForAdmiss/
When do I send transcripts?
Graduate programs may require unofficial transcripts electronically within the online
application. You may also be required to mail official transcripts to your graduate
program. Check your program's transcript requirements before applying.
Go to
http://www.grad.washington.edu/Programs/gradprogs.aspx and select
your program to view the requirements.
NOTE: International Applicants - When you receive notification that you have been
recommended for admission by your graduate program, you must then submit official transcripts
and additional application materials to the Graduate School.
NOTE: Domestic Applicants - When you accept
your formal offer of admission, you must then provide an official final
degree transcript to the Graduate School.

online application before submitting the application.
The fee may be paid by Visa or MasterCard credit or
debit card, or by electronic check (with a U.S. bank account only).
A

is part of the online application process.
