Frequently Asked Questions: Acrobat Applications

Filling out the Form:

Q. What is the best way to navigate through the form?

A. You may "tab" through the fields, but be aware that your cursor will pass over fields with checkboxes.  Don't forget to fill these in!  If you use your mouse to position the cursor instead of tabbing, the chances that you might miss a field will decrease.

Printing:

Q. My printer is cutting off part of the form, leaving out some of my information. What can I do to solve this?

A. There is a print option in Acrobat Reader called "shrink to fit" which is located in the dialog box that opens after you choose "Print" from the File menu.  Check this box and try printing again.

Q. I had to make changes in some of the fields, but the old information is showing up when I print. Why aren't the changes appearing?

A. A field will not recognize new or changed information if it is still "active," or if your cursor is still located in the field.  The easiest way to solve printing problems as a result of this is to quickly click on a non-field area of the form, for example, the white space in the margins.   Then try printing again.

Other Questions:

Q. I can't find the answer to my question on this FAQ. What can I do next?

A. For technical questions about Acrobat Reader and other Adobe products, you may consult Adobe's CustomerFirst Support page, which provides various means of support including User to User Forums.  If you don't find your answer there, you may also send a message to Graduate School Computing and Information Resources.
