Page > Fulbright InformationFulbright Study/Research/Teach Abroad AwardsThe University of Washington campus deadline for applications for the Fulbright US Student competition for 2009-2010 will be September 23, 2008. Current UW graduate students must apply through the UW campus process. Graduate alumni are invited to apply through the UW campus process if they choose. Detailed information on the Fulbright US Student Program award is at the Institute of International Education website. Prospective applicants should check eligibility requirements first. Then, closely read the country summary for the country to which you wish to apply. Each country has different guidelines, procedures and priorities. This is especially true of language and affiliation requirements. Please pay close attention to the details in the country summary to make sure your interests match before proceeding with an application. After May 1st, on-line applications are available at https://apply.embark.com/student/fulbright/usa/. Each applicant sets up his or her own application directly on the website. If you have questions after carefully reading the information on the Fulbright website and the application website contact one of the following people. Undergraduate students (and recent graduates of the
University of Washington) will apply through the Undergraduate Scholarship
Office, 120 Mary Gates Hall. Fulbright advisers there are Graduate Students (and recent graduates with masters
degrees but not a PhD) will apply through the Fellowship Office of the Graduate
School, 302 Loew Hall. To schedule an individual counseling appointment
for the Fulbright, contact UW alumni have the option, if you choose, of applying through the campus process no matter how long it has been since you graduated. Advisers can help you determine if this is the best path for you to puruse, or whether you should apply as an at large candidate. Following are links to articles from the Fulbright
